  1. Six Democratic Representatives; Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), Luis Gutiérrez (Ill.), Al Green (Texas), Marcia Fudge (Ohio), John Yarmuth (Ky.) and Adriano Espaillat (N.Y.), have introduced five new articles that marks an official beginning in the impeachment process of Donald Trump. All five articles, revolve around the assertion that Trump is a danger to America. The democrats say Trump deserves to be impeached for a string of failings, accusing Trump of abuse of power especially of firing the FBI director James Comey, who was leading the federal investigation into Moscow’s 2016 election meddling. The article accused Trump of violating the foreign emoluments clause, which bars public officials from receiving gifts from foreign governments without Congress’s consent. Trump is also accused of violating the domestic emoluments clause, which bars the president from profiting from his office. Conclusively, the Democrats accused the president of undermining two of the country’s central institutions. They accuse him of undermining the courts and the press in ways that threaten the health of the nation’s democracy. “Given the magnitude of the constitutional crisis, there’s no reason for delay,” said Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), who is the sponsor of the resolution. Republicans have rebuffed the claims as baseless, with Republican spokesperson Michael Ahrens saying: “House Democrats lack a positive message and are completely unwilling to work across the aisle, so instead they’ve decided to support a baseless radical effort that the vast majority of Americans disagree with.” Coincidentally, The impeachment plans come after Tony Schwartz, who ghost wrote Trump’s 1987 memoir, The Art of the Deal, predicted Trump will be out of office soon. The author had said he would be shocked if Trump remained in office beyond the end of this year. Schwartz predicted Trump would negotiate a deal for immunity in the Russia investigation in exchange for giving up his seat in the Oval Office. Despite the ghost writer’s strong connections to the New York billionaire and 45th POTUS, he has been a staunch critic of Trump’s premiership.“ "The circle is closing at blinding speed. Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and Congress leave him no choice. Trump’s presidency is effectively over. Would be amazed if he survives till the end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner.” Schwartz continued: “Trump must be isolated. Resistance every day. The end is near but must keep pressure high. The end game is on: Trump goes down or we do. He will blow up the world to prove he matters. We must stand up in opposition every day.” The Republican president’s approval ratings have fallen to the lowest of any president at the nine month stage. Since the Trans military ban was declared, President Trump has seen a significant decline in support. The poll result makes him the least popular president of modern times – with all of his predecessors having higher ratings at this stage
  2. Written by Charles Uzor and originally published on fitnessnaija.com In a world of black and white people, grey people are taught to see themselves as abnormal, queer and mysterious. Grey people must choose to become black or white in order to earn acceptance in society. Barbara Bush, a former US First Lady once told the story of a young pastor who finds himself in charge of some really energetic children. He hits upon the game, Giants, Wizards, and Dwarfs. “You have to decide now,” the pastor tells the children, “which you are – a giant, a wizard, or a dwarf?” At that, a small girl tugging at the leg of the pastor’s trousers asks, “But where do the mermaids stand?” And the pastor tells her there are no mermaids. And she says, “Oh yes there are — they are. I am a mermaid.” The recent ban on transgender people joining the US military, and the declaration by a transgender activist that not only women bleed, has generated a furore around the world. Many are wondering what the world is turning into. Others are insisting that people deserve to be treated with dignity, no matter the appearance of their external sex organs. I will tell you a little story. Bashiru looked apparently healthy when he reported at the urology department at UNTH with a history of bleeding through the urethra. He started bleeding from the age of 10, and it was cyclical, just like menses in women. The bleeding usually lasted for *** days. He also had cyclical lower abdominal pain, which remained unexplained. He menstruated every *** months. Bashiru’s right testis was normal but there was a separate soft swelling that could be felt at its lower end. Doctors determined in the lab that he had translocation of X and Y chromosome 45(t X/Y). Ultrasound tests discovered was a distinct mass in the left half of the scrotum. Left testis was not seen. Surprisingly, a uterus (womb) was found to be present and normal in size and position. Fluid collection was noted in the cavity of the uterus. The ovaries were not seen at their usual location. His male and female hormone levels were in the normal range for a healthy man, except that another hormone, the FSH, was 4 times above the usual value in males. Bashiru’s semen analysis showed he lacked sperm yet the quantity of semen was normal. He was informed by his doctors that he was a true hermaphrodite. He was also informed that he could get sex reassignment surgery if he wanted. After discussing with his doctors, he decided he preferred to be male. Hence a surgical procedure called Total abdominal hysterectomy with right-sided salpingo-oophorectomy and left salpingectomy was performed under general anaesthesia. It entailed removal of his womb, ovaries and tubes, in an attempt to make his life more “normal” as a male. Think about it for a moment. If Bashiru chose not to seek medical care for his urological problems, he would have been a male only by choice, and not because he possessed the right genital equipment fit for men. He might have been ashamed to admit to his friends that he menstruated like a woman; he might have felt sad that he could not impregnate his girlfriend, yet in many other respects, he was a kind and responsible member of his community. Imagine the world going absolutely nuts, that Bashiru, an individual who publicly identified as male, had been reassigned female sex during that operation. Imagine the humiliation he would suffer every day, for being thought “unsure” of which gender he belonged to. His condition could hardly be called debilitating. In my short practice as a physician, I have seen women getting admitted into the hospital on monthly basis, as a result of serious menstrual problems. An employer that relied on the evidence of such hospital visits to deny a woman a job deserved to have his brain checked. Why then is it okay to mock and victimise people like Bashiru for identifying as Mermaids, rather than as Giants, Wizards and Dwarfs? Again, I ask you to think about it just for a moment.
  3. President Donald Trump’s transgender military ban outraged Caitlyn Jenner, but Twitter isn’t having any of it. In a lengthy response to the ban, Jenner said: ‘I believe every American should be outraged by the disrespect shown to those people wearing our country’s uniform. Furthermore, this half-baked idea puts all of our service members in harm’s way. ‘Mr. Trump; my allegiance is with them and our country, not you,’ she wrote in ablog post. But it seems like Jenner’s longstanding support for Trump and sudden realization is leaving people with no sympathy for her. In response to her tweet, one person just sent a gif: ‘Congratulations, you played yourself.’ Then he added: ‘Caitlyn sweetie we been trying to warn you and your privileged ass continued to vouch for him. I’m supposed to feel bad? I don’t.’ Another wrote: ‘Caitlyn was too busy kissing Trump and hardline Republicans like Ted Cruz’s asses to care about regular trans folk. What did she expect? And one tweeted: ‘Everyone saw through his lie, Cait. Why couldn’t you? In her blog, she goes on to say studies estimate over 15,000 people currently serve in the US military. There are also 134,000 transgender veterans in the US. She cites sources to prove transgender people are more likely to enlist in the armed forces. The study said: ‘Estimates suggest that 32.0% of those assigned male at birth and 5.5% of those assigned female at birth have served. By comparison, approximately 10.7% of adults in the US have served. This implies that transgender individuals are about twice as likely as adults in the US to have served their country in the armed forces.’ Jenner finished her letter strong, with a clear ultimatum to Trump on his military ban. She wrote: ‘Over the past two years, I have met the most inspiring trans people, and I can testify to the trans community’s incredible resilience and perseverance in the face of enormous discrimination and hate. ‘We are strong, we are beautiful, and we will win. ‘The President must ask himself which side of history he will be on — and reverse his position immediately.’
