Moderators kimi Posted August 10, 2017 Moderators Share Posted August 10, 2017 So yesterday, I saw something that made me chuckle. I wasn't sure what to make of it as it seemed to be contrary to what I would have expected (from such a renowned person)... Here is the thing: Why do pastors go about with (police) escorts (in this case, one van in front and the other behind). Are they scared of death or of being attacked? Whatever happened to "blessed are those that are prosecuted for the sake of righteousness for they shall inherit the kingdom of heaven"? ...are we not always being told that we are not of this world. So why do they want to remain a fixture in it? If Jesus walked this earth is modern day, what might his approach be? If our lives are not our own... why do these men/women so jealously guard theirs? This incidence sparked a lot of thought and questions (as you might have noticed.lol) What are your thoughts?

Teewhy
The annoying part is that, those church members living in penury uses these pastors' pictures as protection, in form of stickers and wallpapers while the pastors they give their earnings to move about with escorts and the likes. Church business is really a good business. I just shake my head.
dequeen
Well, if Jesus lived in this era, it will be no different. Those "men of god" are the pharisees and the Sadducees of our day. Most of us are the very ones who would have followed his work and post and share his posts and tweet and retweet and shout Crucify him at the end of the day, ask Charly boy. We have proven to be a most disloyal generation. The fact that those MOG's guard their lives so much also goes to prove that alot of them are actually ignorant spiritually. A life cannot be taken until it is time, ask people who have unsuccessfully attempted suicide. As to the church members,it is spiritual indolence that drives them, most of them have chosen to hide from their journey , to not run their race, to not fight their fight of faith. They cower and hope in vain that someone else, perhaps their "pastor" will run their race for them, ask people who have been sowing seeds in hope of reaping millions for the past ten (10) years, not starting a business, not building a career, not going back to school, nothing, just hoping that the pastor's own hustle will somehow magically put money in their own account. Life is in circles, we are simply repeating another circle, even the Bible says "There is nothing new under the sun."
