Americanah you mean! That's such a lovely lovely read my darling. The best (of her work) that I have read so far. A worthy love story

A friend read it and gisted me all about it actually... I thought it was a good story too and an eye-opener in more ways than one.

Aaahhhh... Americanah is a good book. Loved it. Purple Hibiscus was great too. Read that long time ago. So, I'm definitely getting this colour purple book ASAP then read tonight. I got one of Sidney Sheldon's book, Dequeen... "Master of the Game" Twas a pretty good read till it just sounded off. Totally off. Like someone else wrote from that point. It was clear that it wasn't the same person writing that part. Got bored and abandoned the book. Was a great read till the supposed main character died. The book should have just ended there

@Teejay, I haven't read Master of the game. Try get, "Tell me your dreams" or "The sands of time" or " If tomorrow comes" or " The doomsday conspiracy".

Another thing is that Sidney sheldon books are about finding the murderer, the guilty party... so maybe you stopped reading the book when it was just beginning. in his book, there's always a crime, and then he takes you to find out who committed the crime and why... that kindof thing.

I cannot forget Sidney Sheldon! Another brilliant mind! Beautiful soul! I can't decide between he and Dan Brown though. Simply amazing!

Sidney Sheldon is a hit. Back to Back since forever. The guy's book is so good that his autobiography is even on point.

Since Nothing Lasts Forever, I haven't looked back.

Ehen, I also like Jackie Collins especially her series on "Lucky" I.e. the Santangelo series. But I didn't enjoy the last book in the series " Goddess of Revenge" or so I'm not sure again... But she shouldn't write about Lucky again abeg.

I like Nora Roberts, she knows how to interweave witch hunting with sex and love....

I and Danielle Steele have issues. All her books have made cry, every single time, they are just so sorrowful especially when you can't help connecting with the heroine.

John Grisham is good with law books and The Perry Sisters (their surname is just too long.. can't type it sef).

James Patterson has great crime books.

If you like to battle with your faith in God, look into Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol and Da Vinci Code gave me headache. But I like the idea of finding clues.

Stephen King. . Hmmm no words abeg

I hate all Harlequin books. All.

I highly recommend "Tell Me Your Dreams" by Sidney Sheldon, and all Santangelo series. by Collins.

If you like Sci Fi, Robin Cook's Abduction is a good read too.

Was it Master of the Game that had 4 main characters??

Or Sands of Time?

Yeah. That book is one of my best. I read it page to page, in fact studied it sef Cuz I was really interested in the US then.

But sha towards the end of the book, when she came back to Nigeria was not going down well. But it ended.

You should download Okada Books. An app on android, don't know of its on ios but it's an app with collections of books from even new authors.

I recommend "Dear Future Husband" it's a good read too.

Wow! Ain't you a brilliant one! I've never read any of Danielle steel's books. once a friend told me she was a sadist, I wasn't interested in the least.

Harlequin was my first introduction into the fiction world. I still remember the first one I read and re-read and re-read, the main characters name was Valerie. Its how I fell inlove with that name...

Lost symbol didn't make me battle with my faith, the only one that would have had that capacity was Da Vinci code and so I decided to not read it.

My criteria for a great author is simply that 'you have to get me at hello'. From the first paragraph, I should be hooked. John Grisham didn't do that for me so I dropped the book and have never picked up any of his other books.

It's nice that you read so much. Real cool.

Was Angels and demons the one where there was this cute and intelligent lady that was good with codes??? I learnt how to decipher codes from that one and have since formed my own codes too.

It didn't shake my faith, then again i'm not catholic. I was only like o! So these are the positions in a catholic church? This is how a pope is voted? Etc etc.

Jude Dibia wrote a somewhat fictionalized autobiography called WALKING WITH SHADOWS about being a gay man in Nigeria. Amazing book 9.2/10

Got it in 2007, it sold out and I don't think it has gone into reprint plus he's fially left Nigeria :(

I'm reading this fantastic queer novel titled "Hostage moon" it's written by AJ Quinn.

It's so interesting. Lots of suspense mixed with romance and thrill. Author did a fantastic job.

Fingersmith, I have seen the movie but haven't read the book.

Would have love to ask what it was all about but nahh, don't be a spoiler just yet a least until I've read it. Is the book worth the read since you've seen the movie? Her other book,( tipping the Velvet was captivating) i guess this should be better? Or not.

Seen tipping the velvet too. It was indeed captivating, the movie tho. As a matter of fact, I prefer tipping the velvet to fingersmith.
