I've seen that people have different opinions on celibacy, abstinence, sex and what masturbate is or does. I have personal experience with this, so I'll give my opinion. Masturbation isn't intercourse. Sexual abstinence is abstaining from some OR all aspects of sexual acts for as long as you decide. Yes I believe you can masturbate, and still be abstinent. However, celibacy for me is much more than not having sex. It's more intentional, and goals of celibacy are quite different. Its almost like a "spiritual" journey (most of the reason are not religious), and I know some people (yes, gay women) that have done this (and still doing it), and its interesting to see the transformation in a person. Celibacy is deliberately deciding not to have any sexual acts, meaning that someone can't say they are celibate because they haven't found someone to f***k (you shouldn't be looking). You can't be celibate, and watch porn or flirt. The focus is on using on that energy on making yourself a better person. Celibacy takes off the pressure and allows you to refocus on what's important in life. its about self awareness. How to have 100% control over your body. Celibacy means to abstain from sexual act of any kind .Now here's my thought on it, if you are Celibate, that is to say abstinence from all sexual sort. Sex toys, masturbation and so one. If celibacy is to abstain from all sexual relations. Therefore if someone engages in anything as regards self sex, watching porn and any other sexual act, then they are not celibate in the true sense of the word.
