Abystacy
Doctors Suspend Strike, Begin Works Today The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has finally agreed to stop its 65-day-long strike and send its doctor members back to work. The news was released by body president, Kayode Obembe, who revealed to journalists that the body's members chose to suspend the strike on the interest of the ongoing public health issues in the country (Ebola outbreak). He told all striking members to return to work tomorrow and help out the country in these difficult times. Mr Obembe revealed that the delegates will go back to work cause they have worked out a deal for the FG to recall all suspended 16,000 members without punitive measures. The members were suspended by the FG Ministry of Health following a presidential directive. It would be recalled that a week ago the Federal Government sacked about 16,000 of resident doctors over the prolonged strike they had embarked upon. That do be a lesson for them. Because their stupid reason for striking in the first place was totally way off.and that seems nonsensical to me.
