Administrators FlyJ Posted July 8, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 8, 2015 Sequel to intelligence report, the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has ordered a special ‘stop and search’ on roads and highways nationwide, with emphasis on roads in and out of major cities and towns. A statement by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Shogunle, on Tuesday in Abuja, urged the citizens to bear with the Nigeria Police Force during “this security operation which is a temporary measure put in place to address the intelligence received.” It said the special security measure was in no way a return of roadblocks. “Any unprofessional conduct should be reported at www.stopthebribes.net or nearest Police Station,” the statement said. It advised the public to cooperate with police operatives by providing answers to questions that might be asked as well as allow their vehicles to be searched. dequeen
Why did they remove the checkpoints in the first place? They always do things without thinking. At a time when the security of the country is so volatile, when people are desperate enough to rob airports and banks in broad day light! At a time when robbery of all sorts is on the high and people are being kidnapped for minute amounts like N50,000, they chose to remove checkpoints. mtcheww. Abystacy
Story for the gods. . We all know that IG Solomon Arasa is a corrupt man and an extortionist. . What we need is professional patrol team who will really do their job without seeing it as a means of enriching the pockets. Meanwhile check point is highly necessary as to avoid armed robbery attacks on the high way. That is if we still have trusted policemen perform this task effectively.
