Massressistance: anti gay/ hate group in Nigeria

Don't judge a book by its cover'.

That is the fitting descriptive for the disparity between the title of this book; “Dimensions of Gay Struggle – an African Perspective”, and its contents.

First I came in contact with the title, I was ready to be encouraged once again of a struggle like it 'suggests', but its contents are the opposite. Very forceful and tackling. The 150 paged book's overall claim is that homosexuality is an alien and threatens the traditional family system in Nigeria.

“Dimensions of Gay Struggle – an African Perspective” is written by one Dominic Idio, a Nigerian who recently teamed up with a group of anti gay activists from Massachusetts, USA called Massresistance, with an aim 'to fight homosexuals and homosexuality in Nigeria'.

The book suggests various negative claims of homosexuality in Africa. It paints homosexuality as a grave anomaly best practiced by animals.

“Through the African eyes, homosexuality is a high pedestal immoral act, best imagined or possibly practiced exclusively by animals. It is rated an inch higher than incest between close relatives, such as brothers and sisters, sons and mothers, or daughters and fathers. Myriads of such sex misconducts are categorized among the taboos of the land and must be avoided with total disdain … The family remains a microcosm of the larger society and therefore harbors core values.”

Their 'joining' story is that about a year ago, the writer had referenced Massresitance in his book (as an international resource for pro-family citizens!) then contacted them for support and advice when "he began to be very uncomfortable with the growing awareness of homosexuality in his country and the West's agenda to 'influence' Nigeria". He needed to "stop the radical movement that is trying to change his country and others in Africa".

Massresistance on the other hand claims to have the support Dominic Idio sought. He has since become Massresistance's country director in Nigeria. The organization's plan is for its operational office to be situate in Abuja and few days ago it held its first meeting where agenda and 'modus operandi' were discussed.

"They are already working on events to educate the public and grow their numbers, as well as discussions about strategies for activism", the website supplied

According to their website, Massresistance was formed in 1995, and has chapters in all the 50 states of the US. It claims to have partnered with activists in 17 other countries to fight against gay freedom and gay agendas, but their first chapter outside the US is Nigeria (they seem very excited about this).

The organization touts some of their 'successes' as "being used by human rights activists to lobby members of Parliament in Australia to successfully stop “gay marriage” (2012-13), and also in Singapore to pass a special pro-family law in 2009, and as well fought the marriage battle in Finland (2014) (Amongst many other examples of stalling pro-gay agenda world over)

They further explained that because of the deep moral standings in countries like Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya, these countries have become a target of the aggressive pro-LGBT Obama administration's pressure to force their radical agenda on them, including threats of cutting off foreign aid. At the same time they claim the Obama administration has spent hundreds of millions of dollars funding insurgent movements in these countries to undermine the culture from the inside, often in collaboration with billionaires such as George Soros and many other well funded, pro-LGBT groups.

They cited a number of examples of the Wests 'negative' influence "inside" Africa like the "crimes against humanity” lawsuit filed in the United States by a Soros-funded Ugandan homosexual group against Pastor Scott Lively. The group claims "It is clearly meant to suppress any “unacceptable” speech".

They hint that such influences from the West makes the world’s pro -“gay” liberal media establishment so focused on the LGBT struggle in Africa, giving an instance with 'Associated Press' (AP) exposing (few weeks ago) with an article of how authorities in Uganda would not allow a gay pride parade. They claimed "This would not normally be international news"

Still speaking of those Western influences;

"In 2014, feeling under siege by the international LGBT movement, the Nigerian government passed a law reiterating the country’s stand on traditional morality. This only inflamed the radicals and the Western liberal establishment even more"..

.."These well-funded groups are as determined as the communists were generations ago to overthrow the moral order. One Nigerian LGBT activist recently told the UK Guardian newspaper: “It may take 60 years, but we have to start now”.

The organization justifies their radical approach with claims that they are a pro-family activist organization that educates people to help them confront the attacks on the ‘traditional family, children, religion, and society.

They boast that they are different from other 'human rights' groups who have not accomplished much because they have adopted an aggressive and uncompromising approach to ..(how did they put it?) "confront these radical (gay) agendas"

@ Massresistance, how do you really justify all this energy for hate?
