Administrators FlyJ Posted August 30, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted August 30, 2013 Nigeria’s D’Tigers crash out of 2013 Afrobasket Abuja – Nigeria’s D’Tigers on Wednesday in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire failed to advance to the semi-finals stage of the 2013 Afrobasket competition after a 63-64 loss to Senegal in the quarter-finals. Playing in the day’s final quarter-final fixture, the Nigerian side could not contain their west African foes who were inspired by Maleye Ndoye who scored 13 points to help his side. The result meant Nigeria failed in its bid to finish in the top three for a ticket to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Senegal, semi-finals qualifiers for the first time since 2005 when they lost to Angola in the final, will now meet Egypt on Friday after the north Africans beat Cape Verde 74-73. Earlier in the day, Angola qualified for a record 16th consecutive semi-final appearance in the competition, after a 95-73 win over Morocco. They will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire who beat Cameroon 71-56 in another quarter-final fixture.(NAN) - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/08/nigeria-crash-out-of-2013-afrobasket/#sthash.TgPoD9gt.dpuf
