Lets all be honset I have only used a dental dam once with a long term partner, just to see what it was like. Quite honestly, it was a bit of a giggle but I certainly wouldn’t use them again unless it was necessary. While they do feel really nice and soft, they reduce sensation, restrict penetration and mean that the ‘giver’ can’t actually see nor taste their partner, which is a major drawback for me. I don’t know if others have experienced this, but I also found that because they’re so thin and flimsy, they end up getting sucked onto your nose as you breathe through your nostrils?!? The smell, the taste (I tried one of the fruity ones, ewwww), the mechanics of trying to hold onto the dam and give "head" at the same time, terrible. I gave up.
