Though unlike mosquitoes, they are not direct vectors of diseases through mechanical transfer and acting as a reservoir. Transmission occurs indirectly, from consumption or contact with items which have been contaminated by cockroaches, rather than through bites. But like houseflies, they play a supplementary role in the spread of plenty diseases...And.. They are proven carriers of the organisms that cause infections that include Typhoid Fever, cholera, gastroenteritis, dysentery, leprosy, to name a few.. Moreover their egg hatching is multitudinous. So?
