Seriously it hasn't rained at my end in like a week. The weather keeps threatening though. Its the Rain makers, they keep holding off the rain. I was on my way back from school and I still had a few more meters to walk before getting home. At this point, it had started to drizzle and then... what happened next shocked the heck out of me. I reached to the depths of me where my higher self resides and said a heartfelt prayer. It was more like a wish and tala!! The rain ceased instantly. The abruptness of it was so incredible that I dared to try it out another time. The next time it threatened to rain, I did the same thing and I got drenched to my shoes 🙄 Well... it doesn't quite work the same way every time ☻ but I've got the powers alright. Nwaubani writes a fictional story from the point view of one girl. I have been prancing around the room, even though weak from malaria drugs. I can't sleep. I have sobbed uncontrollably. I felt rage, and this tighten around my chest. Nobody deserves the hell those young girls had to go through... 😭😭 Nobody. 😭😭 I have read about the abducted Chibok girls , but never this up close, just headlines and numbers. This is an important story, one which reminds us to feel. I have never read a story so captivating with a powerful narrative. While I read, a girl out there in the forest is experiencing the same thing and living it as reality; I never felt so helpless. Nwaubani did a great job.
